Welcome to the board, NM. Your state is one of my favorites. In which of its fine cities do you live, if one may ask?

Hey Bob, I currently reside in Albuquerque, where I've lived most of my young life so far. Thanks for the welcome!

I would like to vacation in Albuquerque some day. I passed through it once on a cross country drive and I was very impressed.

I would too. Just this spring we passed it and some of the residents were thankful.
They tell me that nearby Santa Fe is just beautiful in the mountains

NM_Bucs, I love it out there. In my late teens my family went to four corners, Carlsbad Caverns and many places. That is one huge cave! My father got a speeding ticket in Hobbs.

Santa Fe is a fun city -- especially the central plaza . . . until you need a parking space. :)

The adobe architecture is impressive, and if you can get out into some of the neighborhoods to see the private homes, you should do so. Even the highway overpasses are designed to look as though they're made of adobe. The city also has some of the best art galleries and souvenir shops you'll find anywhere in the West -- Indian artifacts, baskets, statuary, jewelry, T-shirts, etc. (Yes, you should expect to spend more than a few $$$ there.)

About an hour northeast of Santa Fe (past a dozen or so casinos) is Taos, and that's also worth a visit. Check out the bridge over the Rio Grande Gorge outside town, if you go.

Sounds like the NM Board of Tourism got a hold of some aliases on this board and is plugging away. It is definetly a beautiful state...in a different way than most people are used to, big sky, big mountains, etc. I'm actually moving to Portland, OR at the end of this month or I could host you on a visit to the Land of Enchantment. I take it when the Pirates are aweful (last night) we get by talking about other things...

You catch on quick. Unfortunately we're running out of other things to talk about! Welcome to the board.

When was the last time players having All-Star type season actually made the All-Star team? Thats why I believe a weighted system of elections should be employed. One involving coaches and players combined with fans.

The other part that has irked me about the Allstar game is the voting for the 26th man...Kendall for a few years got screwed on that, he was definitely better than any of the other players up for the spot and sometimes was the catcher with better numbers

If Nate is not put on the team by the NL manager, I'll be highly mad...Nady has had a nice season and has put up worthy numbers, so has Doumit before his injury...Plus with Capps, those are your 4 choices from Pittsburgh...but right now Nate shines above the others...

Though for fun, I'd get a good laugh to see Matt Morris make the team to throw for the Home Run Derby...
