Who should be our closer?

Should Meek inherit the closers job?
(this whole post was basically so I could say that)
Chavaz, Hanrahan, Karstens, Meek..... Who should it be?
Veal would bring the same consistency that we are use to with the Mad Capper.
What about Snell? Could he pull off a Eckersly, Lee Smith, kind of switch?

I know there tends to be more value in a good starting pitcher opposed to a relief guy, however, I feel like Ian Snell could be a dominant closer, and this would be his ticket out of Pittsburgh.

I just cannot see anyone wanting a guy who wants to be in the minors.

Hanrahan would be our best option.

Normally, Ryann, I wouldn't even consider him an option, but he looked pretty good Sunday pitching in a one run game. Maybe Kerrigan (Kerwin) has found something to adjust and he can regain his form. He certainly has the most experience. I would probably hedge that with Meek, though. Committee system...

I voted for Meek. I think he is the same type of pitcher as Capps just younger. I wouldn't have thought this at the begining of the season, but i think he will be next in line now.

If this were to happen...I'd go with either Hanrahan or Chavez. I think Chavez has a little better control and still pitches with power. Chavez. But who knows...maybe we haven't seen Hanrahan's best yet.

I think Coach Kerwin should choose.

Huh?

Capps was a control pitcher who got by because he throws strikes. He has a straight fastball with good velocity.

Meek has historically done anything BUT throw strikes, but does have very good stuff.

They both have fastballs, and I think the similarities end there.

Yeah i was talking about how they each only throw 2 pitches, they are around the same build. I think the control will come with Meek. Alot of young pitchers today start out with poor control then in their 3rd year or so they figure things out. I think he will gain some control.

I think that Meek shall inherit the berth!
