Of Gorzo going more than a couple innings tonight in St. Louis? Anyone want to make any predictions?

I think it will be a bumpy ride again. He'll give up 4 or 5 runs but this time it will be over a 4 or 5 innings. That's my prediction. We'll have the pleasure of watching his misery longer. :?

Gorzellany has been terrible on the road this season. His ERA on the road is over 10. But the Pirate pen had to go four innings yesterday, so he will stagger through six innings, walking 5, and giving up 5 runs.

And the Pirates pepper Wainwright and drive him out of the game early. Buccos win a slugfest, 8-6.

Hope you're right Bucfan but I have my doubts. Gorzo will probably walk 7 if he stays for 6 innings and our whole bunch has been bad on the road. Only chance here is to outscore them but I doubt that.

It seems like Wainwright has always kicked the Pirates butts and to have him going against Gorzo...it could be an ugly game quick...

Hopefully the pitching starts coming around...it seems like the struggles of Gorzo, Snell, Maholm, and Duke might be that of re-adjusting back to working with Andrews/Russell, and forgetting what Colburn/Tracy taught them...

That might explain on how Phil is pitching pretty good...he's bought into their system

I mentioned before that maybe the struggles of the pitching staff were because of Andrews basically tearing these guys down and starting from scratch with them all, and from the comments on here, and the article on yesterday's game, maybe Snell has bought into it too...

See! I told you so.

Great win. Jason Michaels can hit off the bench. He picked the first fastball and crushed it.

And the genius Tony Larussa (1) leaves Wainwright in the game, and (2) pitches to Jason Bay with the game on the line.
