Neil Walker is back!!! And he had a hit to boot. Man, it seems like he has been out forever, which has pushed him to the back of everyone's minds. His .239 average hasn't helped that, either.

Keep it up, Ian. His value goes up with every dominating start. I wonder what LaRussa and Duncan could do with this guy.

Man, it's been a long year for Shelby Ford. I guess he's been battling a nagging injury all year, but it seems he's finally starting to string some hits together. I'm still pulling for him. If we are going to move forward with a 30-plus year old 2Bman, we'll need insurance behind him.

Last night broke a lengthy scoreless appearance streak for Chris Bootcheck. The website only goes back 10 appearances, but I know it was at least 14.

All good things it looks like including Milledge. I gotta disagree on Snell's performance though. 5 walks at AAA does not look so good considering he needs to be going after guys at this level. Then again, maybe it's an abberation.

It's easy to forget that, even though he's been in AAA for what seems like forever, Walker is still the youngest player on the AAA squad. It's too early to give up on him as some have done.

BTW, know who the second youngest guy on the Indy roster is? Lastings Milledge.

I'm planning to go to tonight's game at Pawtucket, barring unexpected complications. Possibly Sunday as well.

Will share my impressions, for what they're worth, of Gorzelanny (tonight's starter), Milledge, Walker, and Robinzon Diaz.

I listened to last night's game, and it sounded as though Snell was tiring fast at the point when he was taken out. Don't suppose Mike Koplove figures at all in the Pirates' plans, but he has been pitching extremely well for Indianapolis. He relieved Snell in the bottom of the 7th and got out of a bases-loaded jam last night without any runs being scored.

Bootcheck was horrible.

He is the right-handed side-armer, correct? He pitched in the majors for Arizona, if memory serves.
