I don't see this. I would vote for him. Parker had the best outfield arm I have ever seen in person by far, and I don't think it's even close. Maybe that's inflated because I was a kid and a fan :) Sadly, that was major league outfielders could actually throw.

Obviously, you were post-Roberto then...because Clemente's was definitely better than Parker's.

I was. I was born in '68 and started going to games regularly from 74-79. It's funny how "history begins the day we were born" :) That is also why I said "in person" because I think that changes a lot.

Sorry, Boston, there was no arm other than .... MAYBE... Dwight Evans, that I saw come close to Roberto's.

If I remember my strat-o-matic correctly, Parker was +5 arm with about -1 accuracy.

Ahhhh... strat-o-matic... sabremetrics before sabremetrics...

All-around, I'd say Jesse Barfield had the best outfield arm I've ever seen. Parker and Dewey Evans were both high up there, though. Roberto was a little bit before my time.

"The Great One" wins this contest hands down. I remember that players rarely tried to tag from second on fly balls to him in right. And those that did were often thrown out.

No one else was that good.

I really feel badly for those too young to have seen Roberto and his arm.

Parker and Evans, and even a young Dave Winfield, all were close to Roberto in arm strength, but Roberto separated himself with his accuracy. Roberto was a +5 arm and a +5 accuracy in Strat o matic... and that makes it the God's Truth!!!!!

Jesse Barfield played AA ball in my neck of the woods and I once went to an outfield clinic he had. At the end of the day, he told me I had the best glove in the group. :)

My arm was weaker than Ryann's spelling though.
