I enjoyed this All Star game very much. Having all of the former Presidents give their speeches along with Obama being there made the opening ceremonies special. Also having Stan Musial there was amazing. Talk about a living legend!

The main disappointment again was the NL losing.....geesh! :? I'm also disappointed that Freddy and Zach did not get a chance to play. The game flew by pretty quick! I'm sure there are different philosophies for managing an ASG, but I would like to think the manager should do everything possible to get all of his position players in the game. Pitching does become a problem as we saw when the one ASG ended in a tie. That we don't need to see again.

Who really impressed me was Mariano Rivera. This was his fourth All-Star Game save. He came in and just mowed down the NL in the bottom of the ninth with great stuff. Calm and in control.

Rivera's name should be synonymous with MLB closer. Pirate relief pitchers need to take some notes. In the case of Matt Capps, a lot of notes.

I enjoyed watching but was yelling at Charlie Manuel for not getting Freddy in the game. And why was Ryan Zimmerman swinging at the first pitch, his team trailing by one, 1 out in the bottom of the 8th?? He isn't use to playing in meaningful games. I suppose Freddy would have done the same.

Seeing Dubya again turned my stomache.. otherwise a nice presentation by Fox.

Mariano Rivera is a one-trick pony, and he's the best one there's ever been.

Closers are overrated. Have them pitch a few innings, and possibly swing the bat themselves. Then we'll see how "great" they are. The most over glorified position in sports, IMO,
