Is being held the weekend of august 21st against the REDS.

I am leaving Florida for a vacation, and wanted to go to a couple of those games(last time at PNC was 2001).

Just wondering if these games are going to be near sell outs, already are sold out, or just another weekend of Pirates baseball, to most fans.

Does anyone know if there is going to be an ample supply of tickets to be found at the gates or by the scalpers hanging on(or off) , the bridge?

I won't have a computer with me, so checking Craigslist the last minute, won't be an option for me to use.

Would have been so much better if the Phillies were in town for the weekend, and not the upcoming mon/tue/wed/ series.

I don't think they will sell out. I heard Frank Coonelly say they were only expecting 2-3 more this year and they mostly involved fireworks. Go figure!

I was thinking of heading in for one more series this year. I might target this weekend, that sounds good. I remember arguing about the trapped ball by Dave Collins from all of the Reds fans during the playoffs that year (I think). I was probably in the 4th grade.

I doubt it will sell out. National League Central games haven't been the biggest sellers over the last couple of season because of our record against them, and we play them more than anybody else. It will still be nice to see the celebration. Do you know what they are planning?

I'm not sure he gets the joke. He probably thinks that's correct English.

Come on dude, you quit your job as the think tank of the board, to become the language monitor?.
Just give it a rest already. If you have something to say, then say it, pertaining to the topic presented.

Seriously, you took the time to read the comments, and this is how you reply?
Isn't this board supposed to devoted to talking Pirates baseball?.
I am trying to help make it that way, by refraining from name calling, expletives and wrongly perceived racial comments or nicknames.

How about you?, How do you plan to chip in ?.

I get personally attacked on here all the time when I talk Pirates baseball, because I do not believe in the rebuilding plan.

I guess you have that right , i really don't care what you think of me personally.

Just like some others , you have taken the time to read the 30 year post.

It was an honest question concerning the team, and your response is this?. personal opinions of me?.

Good Job!

It frustrates me that you hijack this thread w/ this crap. Start a thread called - NH sucks and I don't buy rebuilding. That's totally fine. But I was looking forward to chatting about the 79 series w/ those on this board that remember it. I actually moved from Pitt to Dayton (near Cinci) during that year so it was quite interesting for me as a young kid.

Your post didn't add anything and actually distracted from the quality of the thread. I empathize w/ people your age that have never experienced a winner. You should understand however, that it's hard for us that grew up winning or competing in the NL East that was much tougher to go through this as well. I wish that you respected that. I get that your upset. So am I. This wasn't the thread for that.

Putting my soap box away.
