What the heck was up with the coverage of The President throwing out the first pitch?.

There was all this build up, even running tips from guys like Torre and Pujols, during the pregame show. Can you honestly say that was the best camera angle they could give the fans? . Would it have been asking too much for a shot from behind him , not to the 3rd base side of him.

I figured after it was deemed viewable, by whoever flips the switch, it would be deemed viewable .
I hope that eventually , during the game, they will have a shot of this throw from a center field, or even home plate camera.
That was inexcusable, there had to be some idiotic reasoning behind how his throw would be viewed.
So was the culprit FOX, or was there a stern warning from the FEDS, that in case Obama screws up, no one at home can see it.

I am at a loss for words, which as alot of you know, is unusual.

BTW , the way the ball sounded along with the crowd, the throw made it to Albert on the fly.
What is this world coming to when a portion of a live event has to be censored, just in case The Leader of The Free World made a bad toss, and received tons of ridicule in the process.

Was thinking the same thing. Maybe not as extreme but yes, a poor effort by FOX.

Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity and Anne Coulter will likely agree with you.

Me? I think you are certifiable. But my posts are controlled and censored by left wing militants.

I hope that you are enjoying the game in your bunker. Be wary, be very wary. The government has you under surveillance and have targeted you to be an unwitting subject of top secret mind control experiments.

Palu, I can assure you that FOX would have no problem ridiculing President Obama for making a poor first pitch. FOX rarely likes putting the President in a positive light.

You could clearly hear the boos from the crowd, plus they just showed a different angle of the pitch.

And if anything, McCarver and Buck have gone out of their way to be complimentary of The President. But it's time for him to get out of the booth and let the game be called.

I totally thought the same thing, all the hype about him throwing out the first pitch and then they give you a garbage angle like that.

The pitch was a lollipop. At least he threw it from the mound. But I just do not get why a public official would agree to throw a first pitch, and lob a ball to the plate.

4-seam fastball, right down the middle. No big deal ... and yet elected officials insist on lobbing the ball in the direction of the catcher. I have to say, I don't get it.

It was the typical fluff you'd expect from something like this.

But I'm sure the Cards fans are going to catch all kinds of hell for booing The President.

You'll get booing from any park, anywhere in the country. Add the fact he had a White Sox jacket on and you'd expect some ridicule.

Somebody needs to learn a 4-seam grip.

Still have not read any comment from a Fox official why the pitch was not shown, clearly, to the fans on TV.

Anyone go the AS game ?, was Obama's throw shown on the stadium big screen, exactly as it was on home TV?.
I realize people in the stands could just watch it live.
But if they were sitting in the upper deck, or at a bad angle, i am sure the picture on the Jumbo tron would give them the best view to watch it.

There had to be a definite decison not to have the camera angle behind him, but to the side of him, for that purpose.

I am sure Dan Patrick will get to the bottom of this.
If not, i am sure his BRO Reggie Miller will have some inside info on the not to be seen in its entirety, first pitch.

I noticed on the Yahoo link about Obama's pitch, they mentioned the bad camera shot also.
No one seemed to follow up on the reason why, at least not yet.

I finally saw the complete pitch by Obama on CNN. The ball was dead center but it died right before home plate. Pujols reached down and caught it before it would have hit the dirt just in front of home plate or home plate itself. It needed just a little more juice to actually be a very good pitch. I'd give it a B- considering.

It's just sad that this cermeonial pitch is getting as much, or more, attention than the game itself.

And just to be clear, I'm a Democrat who has no axe to grind with The President. I just find this whole cult of personality surrounding him to be nauseating and really unbecoming of a lot of people.

I just saw another view of Obama's pitch....hmm.....here is the link from ABC News

http://abcnews.go.com/video/playerIndex?id=8084619

Pujols was squatting right over home plate. The ball actually died about 12 to 14 inches in front of home plate. Pujols still had to reach out and catch it . If he squatted behind home plate where catchers usually catch the ball, the ball would have it the dirt.

I now lower Obama's grade to a C- considering........
