No, because this group isnt responsible for 17 years of losing...They've only been in charge for 2 years...

But what does it matter, just call me an apologist and forgot theres more to fix in this organization than just the Major League team...

Good fans question 17 straight years of losing. This group has followed the SAME trends as prior groups. Trading better players for prospects. We got a good return on some of these players, and a terrible return with others. Relize the last 2 years have been celler dweller teams. You are a bad fan if you suck up and support every move the organization makes after 17 straight losing years. This is what the Pirates 5th straight rebuilding program?

Did you get dropped on your head as a kid?

This group is nothing like the prior...

Prove how this group has followed the same trends as the prior management?

I'll just say it for him, because he has said it so many times i know what is next. It is because they trade good players for prospects. It's like Rod's salary dump all over again.

News flash: Dave Littlefield rarely traded good players for prospects. He usually traded good players for other major-league ready players. The last prospect Littlefield traded for was Jesse Chavez, and before that, it was probably Oliver Perez.

Just think how much worse this rebuilding could have been if Littlefield's trade with Boston would have gone through originally as planned...

No Freddy Sanchez, No Mike Gonzalez, and no Mike Gonzalez means no Adam LaRoche...

So you have no 2nd baseman and no 1st baseman, and would have been without a lefty specialist/closer for a few seasons before he was dealt...

It was a good thing Brandon Lyon was damaged goods...

Well Bay was a prospect when he came with Perez, and he also got Freddy when he was still considered a prospect, but that is about it for good moves that Littlefield made. Dare i say Huntington has already made more better moves than Littlefield and alot less bad moves.

Freddy was a fluke...Littlefield got him and Mike Gonzalez back, whom he traded for Brandon Lyon, who was hurt...

Also Brandon Lyon stated that he refused to play for the Pirates anyways. That he would rather retire. I can't stand him. I'm glad he isn't closing for anybody anymore.

Both gm's made salary related moves (Thanks to Nutting). And both traded star players for sometimes no good return. We got 1 true prospect in the Bay deal all other players were already in the major leagues and playing.

It is an entire organization responsible for 17 straight losing season owners, and gm's. No matter if they have been around for 2 years or 17. They continue to show they aren't serious about winning.

"This group is nothing like the prior..."

That is only a true statement when it produces results, which it hasn't. It may in 2012, but until it does it is just the same old, same old.

Your assessment is accurate. The massive changes to the roster have not yielded wins in the majors thus far.

However, you are also correct that the changes may bring about wins - enough to make a run at the playoffs - in 2012 and beyond.

Further, the team is going to be better next year because it will have depth at pitching the entire year. History shows that injury and poor performance are unavoidable to a pitching staff. The disaster occurs when guys like Jason Davis and Yosian Herrera are expected to start and give the Pirates a chance to win. That is no longer the situation ... not even close.
