The Pirates GREAT owner, said that he expected better results from his team this year. News flash, they are eight games below .500, is he waiting until the off season to add some key playes like Hinske last year    Mr. Nutting, please go far away from Pittsburgh and take all your other empty suit management team with you !!!!

News flash, they are better this year, by almost any meaningful measure.

Get back when you have something substantive.

The Pirates pitching staff, in terms of both quality and depth, is so much better in June of 2009 than it was in June of 2008 that no comparison can be made. None.

Offensively, the team is struggling right now in part because two of the three best run producers on the team - Sanchez and Doumit - are out. Take any team and remove the number 2 and 4, or number 3 and 4, hitters, and see how well they score runs.

Said it before, I'll say it again...if you don't like ownership, stop following the team. Nutting and company aren't going anywhere.

From today's PG:

At the midpoint, the Pirates ranked third in the National League with a .267 batting average, their highest since 2004, but third-to-last with 55 home runs. Their 4.26 ERA ranked seventh, dramatically better than the league-worst 5.10 a year ago.

Yes, which is why I applaud the moves of the current organization. They are moves that are intended to get this team out of the basement in the foreseeable future.

Your a joke. You supported prior rebuliding plans just like this one.

False on two counts.

1. What Littlefield did was NOT rebuilding. This is the first true attempt that the Pirates have made to truly rebuild since you were still shitting in your knickers.

2. Willton was among the most vocal opponents of the past regime (not that he needs to defend himself or have others defend him against the likes of you), as was nearly everyone here that you have chosen to label apologists. Some of us just have the sense to be able to recognize that rebuilding is necessary, and that what is being done here is the best path to take. Doesn't guarantee success, but it beats the hell out of Littlefield's plans.

You're an idiot. You think that what Littlefield did was actually rebuilding. I doubt you actually know what rebuilding is.

Sadly, you are so wrong on that point...

If you'd have been here than 2007 you'd have seen that...

You have no idea who I supported back when Littlebrain was in charge. And fortunately for you, because the board was hacked 2 years ago, I have no way of proving you wrong. However, to think that I supported anything that Littlefield did, with the exceptions of the Giles trade and the Gonzalez-LaRoche trade, is downright wrong.

You are lucky the board was hacked 2years ago! You probably were the hacker to hide all those moronic pro-littlefield posts you made!

Sorry Ryann, I can vouch for Wilton unconditionally on this one.
