That's right boys. Going out now to join friends to watch the game. If we're bad again, we can at least have a few laughs and more beers.

I know I'll take an amp with me that runs on batteries and run a mic and my guitar through it, and find a spot to sit on the main drag between events in the park and the ball field and will play for 3 hours or so Friday and about 6 Saturday and come out with some nice $$$...

I usually end up playing a lot of Neil Young and the Eagles...and someone always asks for Free Bird and Margaritaville

Nicely done. I have seen Clapton do the same with Badge and Let It Rain many times.

If you ever get a chance listen to Knocking on Heavens Door by Bob Dylan and Helpless by Neil Young or CSNY...

Same chord progession and same beat...I'll play both of them together going back and forth on the verse and chorus of each song, and throw some harmonica in there and make it 10 minute nonstop song...

Every concert Bucfan has attended, dating back to 1978, he has heard at least one patron yell, "FREEBIRD!!" It is tradition.

Told the boss this morning that if I want to see the Pirates continue to win, I unfortunity have to go to the bar every night until this winning stops.

She's not worried at all. What's one more night to her?

If the streak goes 10 or more, I'll take a collection to help pay for rehab...

This sounds like something I need to be doing. Mind if I neb?

Do you play acoustic or electric? What sort of microphone? What batteries do you need to play for 6 hours?

I play acoustic guitar for the most part, I own two electrics that mostly sit and collect dust...I only play them if I'm playing with a band, but more often than not lately, I'll play harmonica with the bands I sit in with...

I play both and electric and acoustic bass in my Johnny Cash gigs, depending on the size of the venue...

I'm also in the process of learning the ins and outs of the mandolin and lap steel guitar...

But my gigs I play, I am acoustic on guitar, got the harmonica rack to play both at the same time, and a microphone to sing..

I use a Peavy microphone to sing and a Schure for the harmonica (I do this so I can keep the levels balanced so the voice and harmonica match the guitar), I have a Schure handheld microphone for the harmonica (playing in the band), the amp I use runs on 6 AA batteries and has a life of 15 hours continous play...I've always changed them after each time I use them just to be safe, plus keep an extra pack on hand...I've never maxed it out, longest I've ran it was 8 hours camping, I ran my MP3 player through it...

Do you use a Shure 57 or 58. Both good choices. The 57 is a little better for recording.. The 58 for vocals.
