The Pirates have had 20 players in their history hit for the cycle, five of them since 1970. Name the last five to do it and the year.

Bonus: Two players in Pirate history hit for the cycle twice in their career....name them.
Double bonus: In 1925 and again in 1945, two Pirates hit for the cycle within 2 weeks of each other. Name them.

Brad -
I seem to recall that one of the last five (probably) got his HR on an inside-the-park job. Was it Kendall?

Daryle Ward, Kendall, Gary Redus

Those are the only 3 I can remember from my lifetime

No need to apologize...because I like Pirate trivia too.

The three mentioned are correct...Kendall, Redus, and Ward. I am certain of these.

I think Mike Easler did it....and for some reason I am thinking Fred Clarke did it twice. Not sure why but that is sticking out in my mind.

I missed part of that question.. I have no clues what years... Ward was the most recent. I can't even remember any more when he played for us... 2005??

Kendall was before that...I think it was a few years into his career....maybe 1999???

Redus I am pretty sure did it in 1989. Not sure why that sticks out in my mind.

No idea what years that Fred Clarke did it, I just remember reading that somewhere.

Mike Easler was the year after the Bucs won the series so that would be 1980.

I think Richie Zisk did it too, and I think I remember Stargell doing it when he was young.

If I had to guess at a few more, I would guess Clemente, Virdon, Pie Traynor, Honus Wagner, Max Carey. I think Maz may have done it too. I am surprised that Dave Parker had never done it.

Okay, so you wanted five since 1970...I would say Zisk, Easler, Redus, Kendall, and Ward!

Animal has the last five and I will go ahead and give the year: Zisk in '74, Easler in '80, Redus in '89, Kendell in 2000 and Ward in 2005.

Arky Vaughn, Max Carey and Fred Clarke are parts of the two bonus questions, but I'll let that ride alittle while.

I know a great deal about the Bucs back to the mid to early 70's but not much before that!

The Bonus questions have me.

Excellent question, by the way!

Almost game time, so I'll finish the answers.....Fred Clarke and Arky Vaughn both hit for the cycle twice. Kiki "Hit 'em where they ain't" Cuyler and Max Carey hit did it within two weeks of each other in 1925. Bob Elliot and Bill Salked (???) did the same in 1945.

I never even heard of Salked and Elliot!
