Man, this is a huge series. The Pirates must go 2-1 in Cincinnati. The Reds bullpen is nearly destroyed right now and their starters are taxed as well. If the Pirates are to make the season interesting now is the time.

WEll, the Pirates ought to be in the right frame of mind to continue the winning. The Reds are one of the weak sisters and as you say their pitchers are warn thin.

Problem is that we are only 9-15 on the road so far. That's not very encouraging, but maybe this is the time for it to change.

We should be able get to their pitching woes, however you never know which hitting Reds team will show up. In that regard, they are a lot like the Bucs. One thing's for sure, you don't want to face Adam Dunn in the bottom of the 9th inning (or anytime, really) this series the way he has been playing.

Also, Jay Bruce has been called up to the Reds and will make his MLB debut tomorrow. For those unaware, Bruce has been considered the top prospect in all of the minor leagues for some time now. He was hitting .364 with 67 hits with the AAA Louisville Bats. He'll likely replace Cory Patterson who went 0-8 for the Reds last night in that 18th inning trek. I will be there to see the history unfold. Which hopefully means 4 K's thanks to the Pirates pitching staff.
