Damn. Shoulda had that one!

Good guesses there No. 9. You get bonus points for even remembering guys like Porter, Stearns, and Cedeno. Could the Astro in the last row be Bob Watson? Stone is an excellent guess for the Expos.

Full disclosure: I'm 41 years old and these guys played right in the middle of my "prime" baseball card collecting days. Thus, face recognition for guys who played in 1979 is deeply engrained in my brain.

I'm 41 as well and still have my cards. As fate would have it most of the cards I have from this gallery are triplicates and quadruplicates of guys like Porter and Stearns. My personal best for duplicates is Rusty Staub.

I broke down and looked at the roster. Was embarrassed by a few omissions. For those who care to know: http://www.baseball-almanac.com/asgbox/yr1979as.shtml

I just laughed out loud when I saw that Porter was in the AllStar Game - BUT FOR THE AL!!! And, yes, he was drunk. The fact that I missed Bob Boone is just freaking sad. Andujar as well but not quite as embarrassing. Quite a few on the NL roster who either declined or couldn't participate and aren't in the photo (Kingman - Cubs; Concepcion - Reds; Bench - Reds)

I wonder if I'm going to have this kind of nostalgia when I reach my 40's.

Some might call it nostalgia.

I call it Chinese Water Torture, and probably the reason the Bush Admin lawyers ruled water boarding as not torture.

The guy probably grew up in Houston or San Diego, and realized what true torture was.

I am going to drink my scotch now. Heavily.

Thank you all for the 1970's acid flashbacks!

Hopefully in our 40's our nostalgia trip will be laughing and joking about wondering how the Pirates could ever lose 17 straight seasons of baseball and are a constant playoff threat...

The White Sox are in a league of their own when it comes to bad uniforms. Here is the history and drawings of them. They are pretty funny http://www.whitesoxinteractive.com/rwas ... =3&id=2104

IMO I would say the worst ever is what Ozzie G is modeling below:
