The trainer and Kerrigan talked to him at length before he went out for the first inning. I can't imagine they would've let him go out for the first with a sore or tight arm. Gotta think it is something else....

Didn't see the first inning talk but you never know. Maybe thats why Atlanta traded him to us. Doubt it actually the physical and such would have probably shown us it.

I think he realized he was playing for the Pirates and decided to retire in the middle of the game. I guess it could be called operation never startup.
