yep...he looks pretty good. Definitely making a play to get back in the rotation.

I want to see him get a chance. Karstens has been okay as the #5 guy...kept us in the games as good as any fifth starter.... but does anybody doubt that a healthy and rejuvinated Gorrzy would be much better in the rotation?

One can afford to crank it up when one knows one is in the game for an inning or two.

You won't see that kind of velocity regularily if he is starting and conserving himself for 6 or7 innings as a starter.

Still, nice to see him continue to get people out, and not walk a lot.

Maybe he is starting to trust himself again.

Don't tell Wilton, he thinks it was a bad idea to bring him up.

Bringing up Gorzo was a great move.

Yeah, his stuff did seem to have some of the old zip on it. I'm still not satisfied with the command, though. Not throwing too many more strikes than balls yet. However, I wouldn't be opposed to giving him a shot at starting.

Not only that but Burnett looked awfully sharp as well. He had a couple of really nice pitches that painted the black on the outside of the plate to left handed hitters. He's no John Grabow right now but - LAST NIGHT ONLY - was Grabowesque in the way he pitched.

I did see that, Az. I can hope that he can reach 92 mph consistently as a starter. His slider and change, plus that kind of heat, would make him a viable starting candidate once again.
