Can Pirates fans see what scouts look for in terms of a big-time hitter when we watch Andrew McCutchen? His bat whistles through the strike zone faster than any other Pirate player I have seen. Because of that, he crushes pitches on the inside corner. He is going to be a very good hitter for the Buccos.

Yes. He is another level. They said the same thing about Pedro at Spring Training as well with the bat but his K's are out of control. I hope he gets that resolved soon.

I believe this is our 3rd extra inning game this season, and we are 1-1, so if we win this we will be over .500 in extra inning games.

You gotta start somewhere :)

I'm getting pissed off at Adam LaRoche again. How many chances has he had in these last few games to drive in important runs and he hits into double plays! :x

Laroche's bat looks slow right now. He is not driving the ball to the gaps like he does when he is hot. Buccos need productivity from him ...

I never liked that little thing he does with his bat right before the ball gets there.

Kudos to Meek. He threw a ton of sliders, and the pitch was effective for him tonight. He was hitting 95 mph in his third inning of work, as well.

Way to go, Andy. Lead-off single.

Give credit to Snell for a well executed bunt.
