If Karstens comes in, what does it mean for his next start?

Starters throw 2 days before their regularly scheduled start. He will use the inning in place of his between-game bullpen session and should be available to start on Wednesday ... if he goes only 1 inning, that is.

Thanks. Sadly I think he's likely to only go one inning.

Nothing like walking the lead off man in extra innings. Ugh. Nice play by Little LaRoche on the bunt...

Anyone else think 'Cutch really played that last one poorly? It seemed like he was drifting back and it bounced in front of him. I'm suprised the Pirates announcers haven't said anything.

Bases juiced, always scary when there is nowhere to put a runner...

I'm watching on TV and they said that essentially.

I agree but I'm glad I watched the entire game because I was feeling like you were earlier when they were down 5.

It feels so good to win games like this but it hurts...big time...to lose these games. The bullpen is taxed and we have the back end of the rotation coming up. Let's hope the bats can continue to mash.

Yeah that's not the first time since he's come up where I didn't understand why he didn't get it. There was a play in the Mets game where Beltran hit one to center and I thought Cutch took a bad route on it.

Edit: Sorry it was Martinez. Here's the video: http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?s ... DoN&ref=nf

You are a punk. I try not to go after people on this message board, and avoid pointing out the laughable stupidity of some contributors, like ... well, you. However, you deserve all the abuse I am going to give you.

You cannot write a complete sentence, and have the language skills of a dyslexic Bedouin. Your typographical errors and unwitting malapropisms are the only worthwhile part of your pathetic, rambling, idiotic posts. You are too lazy to look up what is written in a post in the very thread where you offer your inane comments. You ignore evidence from credible sources, cited to show how stupid your position is. You dismiss the evidence by employing the logical fallacy (named for you, it would seem) "invincible ignorance."

That fallacy involves refusing to acknowledge contrary data simply by dismissing it, without refuting the information itself. Your most recent example of invincible ignorance was dismissing the observations of a noted baseball columnist, John Sickels, by accusing him of being "biased" in favor of ... well, somebody. (You failed to mention in whose favor the columnist exhibits such purported bias.)

You post your ridiculous comment after a very tough loss, where the Pirates battled for 15 innings. The pen did a great job. McCutchen showed a lot of us why the Pirates are so enamored with him. And your contribution is the imbecilic, moronic chant about the Pirates losing.

A number of others have taken some shots at you. Prior to this, I have not. Of course, you are too stupid to pay attention to who is answering your posts without pointing out your obvious intellectual shortcomings.

From now on, rest assured, I will be all over your idiotic contributions, spelling and grammar errors, faulty reasoning, complete lack of reasoning, thoughtless comments, and embarrassing gaffes.

In other words, your standard post.

Just for the record. The Pirates are now below .500 even in extra innings. 1-2 :(

I went to bed because I couldn't stand the thought of them losing, but I'll take a stab at defending Cutch even though I didn't see the play in question. I'm guessing he was simply making sure the ball stayed in front of him. Giving up a single is better than the risk associated with giving up extra bases on a misplay.
