It's an ESPN Insider so I won't provide a link or paste too much. Some highlights include...

~Pirates taking catcher Tony Sanchez from Boston College.

~Pirates considering Bobby Borchering, 1B/3B, Bishop Verot HS, Fort Myers, Fla. as well. He has him going #16 to Arizona

~Pirates considering Wil Myers as well with the #4 pick. I did not see Myers taken in first round of the mock draft.

~Aaron Crow, RHP, Fort Worth Cats (formerly from Missouri Tigers) going #5 to Baltimore

~Kyle Gibson, RHP, Missouri Tigers going #17 to Arizona

~He has Tanner Scheppers being left out of the first round but says he'll get first round money. I wonder if he would consider the Pirates if they took him again in the 2nd round?

I think that it is widely assumed (if not confirmed by reporters) that Scheppers has not signed off to give the Pirates permission to draft him. Unless that only applies to the first round . . . . I honestly have no idea.

If they go with Sanchez and Crow goes fifth to Baltimore, there will be a lot of people breaking out the pitch forks and torches (as if the McLouth deal didn't already have many people there already). The comparisons to the Moskos to Pittsburgh/Wieters to Baltimore draft will be just about everywhere.

Wishful thinking on my part no doubt, but I'm hoping Ackley falls to 4th and we grab him.

Not going to happen. The Mariners are now run by a smart GM. Zduriencik is not going to let Ackley get past him.

The real question is whether Donovan Tate becomes available to the Pirates, and whether they would pick a player that has so much upside but appears to be more interested in playing college football (he's already committed to UNC for baseball and football).

Well Aaron Crow would be my pick and if he is gone then it would be Kyle Gibson.
Crow is my favorite by far, i just don't like how he didn't sign with the Nationals last year, and also he is going to be 23 already this year so he would have to develop fast.

That could work for the Pirates in several differant ways, if they are confident of a few things.

1. Shows they will pick the talent
2. They are confident of Sano's ability, and their ability to sign
3. If they sign both, great PR in every way.
4. If they sign Sano's and Tate goes football, you've not wasted 1st round monies on less than steller (by previous standards) talent in the 1st round. No PR issue and you ge to overpay for deeper round talent.
5. You get the guy you really want.

I'm wondering why you would say this. Which players, specifically, do you believe the Pirates have held back in the minors for too long?

It would be hard not to hold him back though until he is atleast 24 or 25, because he will be 23 in November, and he does have to have some time in the minors.

I cant sit on here and look at everyones questions
Walker was held down to long, lincoln is being held down, alvarez should be called up, any word on tabata is he in AAA yet? But eldred he never got to get consistent big league time after wasting away in the minors.
Wait steven pearce tore up the minors does ok in one month in the majors and never gets and more chances.

I wouldn't say Steve Pearce did ok in the majors. He stunk. He needed more time in the minors. You can destroy players by bringing them up too soon, and the Pirates have also done some of that, more than i would say they have held players down. Brad Eldred was held down but i think he destroyed himself by striking out everytime.

Ryann's philosophy: everyone should be called up to the majors, regardless of how well they've performed.
