Jack must be a little sore from that awkward fall yesterday. He was visibly upset with Sanchez after the play.

I can't believe Ronny Paulino is on the hill for the Astros. If the Pirates only knew. ;)

I didn't take thaty he was upset with Freddy. I thought he was upset With the slide and was emotionally explaining it to Freddy.

Thought there was a good chance Freddy would sit today. Confusing-- he sits him when he's hot and plays him when not.

And what about catcher after a night game to a day game? Don't get me wrong I really like JJ.

Russ Ortiz time. He's older than me and I'm hoping as effective. Please no STBHOF performance.

I agree. I don't think he was upset with Freddy...just the way the play ended up.

And as somebody said, why Jaramillo again? I like him, but Diaz has been missing in action for a while, hasn't he??

I am wondering if management said something about Diaz playing too much, because they don't want any kind of controversy when Doumit is healthy. I was beginning to wonder if Diaz was taking jaramillo's backup spot.

I think its because Jaramillo is a better catcher, and is hitting with some pop right now. I just see a buch of singles from Diaz. Oh, and Snell is pitching.

I used to want them to go with a tandem every other day, but lately Jaramillo is showing a lot of promise and I prefer him starting every day. That being said, I'm more than comfortable with Diaz getting a start every third or fourth day ...

Who would have ever thought this would be a battle of the pitchers so far.

Adam LaRoche has become worthless. He hardly makes contact anymore.

Andy Laroche has a better hitting approach than most Pirate players. If a pitcher pipes a first-pitch fastball, he is hacking. Way too many Pirates watch a very hittable first pitch fastball go by, only to swing at an 0-1 breaking ball in the dirt.

Adam LaRoche is riding an 8 game hitting streak into today's game...

Snell struggling a bit. Walking a good base runner like Pence = bad idea.

Good at bats by Vazquez and Young, taking advantage of the big hole between first and second. Bases loaded, nobody out and the top of the order coming up.

Let's go, McCutchen. With runners on base, I particularly like the fact that he has a good knowledge of the strike zone and some pop in his bat.

McCutchen grounds out and drives in one, Morgan singles and scores one, Walk Freddy to load the bases for Adam...

The Astros were not going to throw Freddy a strike. They walked him, hoping for a ground ball from Adam and got exactly that.

I'm holding hope for a scoreless inning from Jackson and Andy leading off with a homerun...
