My recollection is that he was doing well in Indy at the time of his call-up. The combination of his disastrous trip to Pittsburgh last year and the equally disastrous trip to Pittsburgh this year has to take an incredible mental toll upon a player. He is very likely looking at the possibility that his dream of being a major league baseball player is about to come to an end. That has to be a tough issue with which to deal. Do I want to see him as a Pirate? Not particularly. But it doesn't mean that I don't feel bad for him. To be that close . . . and not make it . . . tough gig.

Embarrassment like he suffered while with the Pirates can set a player back quite a bit. That is why i am against calling up McCutchen. He isn't doing great in Triple-A right now and it could ruin him for months.

I wouldnt say hes not doing great, his last 10 games hes hitting .395 with 2 HR's

Overall .303 avg, .493 slugging, .361 obp, 10 2B's, 8 3B's, 4 HR's, 10 SB's

Its now time to see if he can do this on a regular basis...
