Argentum-- I'll be there Thursday too. If you give me your seat, I'll look you up. I don't know mine except that we're in the all-you-can-eat section which is down the first base side in the corner, I think.

Let me know, I'd like to say hello.

Tell you what . . . I don't care about the records . . . I don't care about the owners . . . the attendance for a pitcher's duel between Santana and Duke is a bit disappointing.

You have to remember that the Penguins were playing Game 3 of the Stanley Cup finals. As much as I love baseball, no way I'm going to any game while the Pens are playing.

Ah, I see that you figured that out later in the thread.

Even as a huge hockey fan I have to say, I actually doubt that has much to do with it considering the Pirates attendance is currently sitting dead last in the league on the season ...

Then Pens have the highest TV ratings of any NHL team in these playoffs. They've broken several records. The whole city is totally focused on hockey right now.

I think there were really more people outside of Mellon Arena than there were inside of PNC tonight.

I get down on the attendance but I think anyone who went to see the Pirates vs. anyone when the Pens are in the Stanley Cup is nuts. How many people would have been at a regular season Pens game opposite the Super Bowl w/ the Steelers.

Well i know i could afford just about the best seat at a Pirates game right now, but i probably couldn't afford the cheapest seat for the Penguins right now. Money is a big factor. Plus i wouldn't want to have to be leaving the city when there is two teams playing in town.

I just checked out prices for game 4 on ebay. They aren't as high as i thought they would be but it just seems like a waste of money to me. Penguins are #3 for me when it comes to Pittsburgh teams.

I'm not disputing the fact that all the city's eyes are on the Pens right now, and rightfully so, but my point is that, even if the Pens weren't still in the playoffs I doubt attendance for the Pirates would be that much better. They have finished in the bottom 5 in the league in attendance for some years now ... including during the 03-04 season in which the Pens vacated the cellar (yes -- that year, when Ryan Malone was the leading scorer).

He was/is. It is just hard to believe he was ever on a team in which he scored the most goals. He is definitely a quality 2nd liner in the league, but the fact that he scored the most goals for the Pens that season just showed how abysmal it was.

I was thinking the same thing when Colin posted that.

Sub, we'll be in section 26 on the third base side, row K. We have the first 10 seats but I have no idea which one I'll end up with. I'll be wearing my spring training cap.......

Thanks Argentum, I'll look for you.

If the rest of you don't want an afternoon of fun then you cheat yourself.
