Pirates' lineup:

1. Morgan, LF
2. Young, 2B
3. McLouth, CF
4. Adam LaRoche, 1B
5. Andy LaRoche, 3B
6. Moss, RF
7. Vazquez, SS
8. Jaramillo, C
9. Duke, P

Cubs' lineup:

1. Soriano, LF
2. Theriot, SS
3. Bradley, RF
4. Lee, 1B
5. Johnson, CF
6. Soto, C
7. Freel, 3B
8. Blanco, 2B
9. Zambrano, P

Talk about a must-win game. I really believe this is a sink-or-swim game for our beloved Buccos. I'm not thrilled about Wilson and Sanchez getting the day off.

IA -
I'll forward you the company memo. Sanchez is getting the day off because tomorrow is an offday and Bucco management is doing everything they can to (1) make sure that he doesn't hit the AB requirement to trigger his option and (2) they are showcasing Vazquez and not trying to win.

I like that thinking outside of the box line-up mentality. Not sure I'd bat Vazquez ahead of JJ, but that's nit picking. Defense could be interesting up the middle though, don't think this bodes well for turning DPs that are slightly above average on the difficulty scale.

I'd personally rather see Andy and Young switched in the lineup. Young has no business batting at the top of the order.

How do you sit Sancez after he gets a hit in 8 out of 9 chances? Ridiculous. No other manager would do that.

This IS a very big game - it would be great to win, but if we lose, it's just another loss.

Lets just be happy to have him in the line-up. We could have Monroe batting 4th again after all. For now at least, I think I'd rather have Andy batting with runners on base.

Young is hitting very well left-handed. He is hitting .375/.444/.438 left-handed. His OBP merits top of the order hitting position as a lefty hitter.

Meanwhile, lefties are hitting Zambrano to the tune of .322/.400/.492. On the other hand, righties have posted a measly .692 OPS against Zambrano. The .892 OPS by lefties against him merits putting some lefty bats in the line-up ... clearly, that plays into what Russell has done.

Young in the line-up - good. Vazquez? Dunno about that one.

So the "DP" combination has already cost us a run(s).

Young's throw on that DP try was about as ugly as they come. Great call Russell.

Zambrano got lucky on the bases loaded line drive by Duke. He smoked that ball.

Young has struck out looking 3 times. Too bad Freddy isn't playing. 8.5 mil is just a little too steep.

About time for me to get on my soapbox again about the importance of productive ABs . . . . particularly when the other team has one of their best pitchers on the mound. 2 on, none out, trailing by one and and no runs across the plate. Frustrating.

I'm very disappointed to come home and find Freddy watching the game with me. I've had enough of this crap. He's hitting the hell out of the ball. Play him, play him, play him.

I take back everything I wrote about Delwyn Young. He is the Cubs MVP so far today.

Uh, Carlos . . . take a shower. He'll be getting a letter from the League Office on this one.

Zambrano implodes and I'm not in front of a TV, dammit!! Wonder if Soriano is worried about heading back to the dugout?
