If the Pirates had a bigger payroll, they would be alot better team !!!! If management would only wan't to put a winning them out on the field, they would go out and pick up a big hitter and an above average starting pitcher.

If we had some ham, we could have ham and eggs, if we had some eggs.

This gave me a big laugh tonight. And it could be my new motto.

When a meal looks this good, it's hard to criticize, if you had some ham or some eggs.

Salt: like "salt" Lake
In: no change
Bocca = exactly as double "c" of "bucco" but with the final "a" as you say the excalamation "ah!"

My family comes from the Calabria region of Italy. My grandparents on both sides of my family were born in Italy. Unfortunately, Italian was not used very much at all when I was growing up, so I never learned the language. My grandparents never really passed down the language to my mom and dad.

Isn't it amazing how good topic threads on this board occasionally veer off in incredibly unforseen tangents?

Is Adam Dunn going to be available?

Maybe the Nationals will take Eric Hinske, Ramon Vazquez and Craig Monroe...you know, the 3 players signed for roughly the same amount we could've spent to get Dunn.

It's a dead horse all right, but for me it's up there with managements failure to draft Matt Wieters.

That'll never happen. Nutting would have to increase the post-game buffet budget too much. Cheap bastard.

Those 3 about equal Dunn's weight...

Too bad this management wasnt the group who failed to sign Wieters...

So you wouldn't want him and his bat in our lineup because he's big?

Yeah, that makes sense.

Dunn's only getting paid $4.125 million this year? That's news to me.

The last OT (I swear ;) ): Probably because they wanted to create something new with their new life in their new country and probably beacuse sometime the "italian language" was the reason of discrimination (as the other immigration's language). So maybe they wanted to give "a new life" to your parents. And in my opinion this is the right way (and don't forget that anyway you'll have always "italian blood" in your veins even without "la lingua italiana").

Calabria is a beautiful region. The problem over there is that is still (as in general all the south of Italy) fighting with the economic problems (no jobs) and a lot of people, as your grandparents did, are still moving to find a work to survive.

But the landscapes are incredibles:

Same as bassoondirector both sides of my family are from Italy. I'm Calabrez, Sicilian, Roman, and Lombard. Neither side passed the italian language onto my mom or dad, but when i was 13 i decided to teach myself latin through the library and the internet. After that i moved on and learned Italian by the time i was 16. It has been fun being able to talk to the few people in our town that speak italian. My grandma went to Italy for the first time since she left back in 2000. I have not been able to make the trip yet because of my fear of flying. I hope to one day be able to come visit over there. It tops my list on things to do for my life. I love the whole country of Italy, it is beautiful all over.

Yeah! What a full blood italian DNA!!!.....

Italy is beautiful 'cause it's old (full of history) and in a very lucky position on tha map (very hot during summers, and not so cold during winters).

Everybody here that have grandpas and parents form Italy say a big "ciao" from me. Okay? ;)

And now I stop my self on this enourmous OFF TOPIC
