I was reviewing the White Sox stats and they are not all that impressive.

They have some good hitters - Konerko, Dye, Quentin, Thome, Pierzynski - but they are not scoring all that much.

Aside from Buehrle their starters are nothing special. The back end of their bullpen is very solid. We better get to them early. Bullpen is a little depleted - they gave up 20 runs last night - so that helps our cause.

I like our chances of taking at least one and hopefully 2 this weekend.

I hope you are right. I'd be fun to have Duke continue to pitch well and win game one for the Buccos. Having a quality DH is huge now too. Monroe and Hinske should fair quite well against the AL.

Also, Quentin may or not be in the lineup as he has been dealing with plantar fasciitis and has missed a ton of time lately.

I would be thrilled if we took 2 of 3.

I'm not sure I'd call A.J. Pierzynski a good hitter at this or any other point in his career.

He's a pretty complete tool, though.

Yeah listing Pierzynski there was a stretch. I didn't take the time to really research it, just listed him because he has a familiar name.

In any case, I've heard people talk of them as contenders, but I don't really see it. They are probably better than their current record but not good enough to make the post season.

He's a tool, alright.

He's a tool, alright.

I caught an interleague game between the Giants and White Sox in SF last year.

Pierzynski was booed as loudly by Giants fans as any player I've ever witnessed — including Bonds here in Pittsburgh.

The chances are less, now that we have lost the first game.
