Any predictions on which interleague series this year will be the best.

I like the series between the Angels and the Dodgers because both teams are hot right now.
I also like the Phillies and Yankees because it should be a fun scorefest to watch.

I absolutely love interleague! It's great to see matchups you don't normally see. I hate when "experts" bash interleague with genius comments like..."Wow, that is quite a rivalry between the Mariners and Marlins" or "Great series between the Royals and Pirates!". You know what, make those comments when the Royals and Twins are playing on a Tuesday in June. There are always going to be downer games from a national standpoint. I for one am looking forward to the Royals/Pirates series. I have plenty of friends that are Royals fans and we have some friendly wages on this series! I lost my the clothes off my back when the Buccos got swept in KC a few years ago...time to make up for it Buccos!

I hate interleague as much as I hate the DH.

I'm just a hater.

Hates a strong word, but that being said, I'm not much of an interleaguer either. I do hate the DH though.

KC is looking pretty good this year...They might have a shot at the division if all the cards fall in place

It's funny how one player can change the national perception on a team. Are the Royals improved? Of course. Are they really that good? Well, they would be exactly two games ahead of the Pirates right now. If you were to ask a Royals fan if the two teams are similar they would laugh at the comparison. The Royals...21-19. The Pirates...19-21. Oh, and the AL Central is brutally bad again this season.

I've been following a little more closely than normal...I had Availes on my fantasy team, then added Teahan and Callaspo and added Juan Cruz last week...

KC developed the pitching. They've got, if not the best pitcher, the most talented in Grienke (sp?).

If the rumored Peavy trade goes through, this series with the Sox just got exponentially more difficult.

We kicked his ass earlier this season.

We kicked his ass earlier this season.

Peavy's ERA then: 5.74
Peavy's ERA now: 3.82

Since the Pirates beat him on April 26, he's bettered his K/9 rates by more than 2 strikeouts, and cut his BB/9 and H/9 essentially in half.

It's a moot point, though, as all indications are that he'll veto any trade to an AL team. Which probably means that the Cubs will ramp up their efforts to land him.

Peavy's ERA on April 26th: 9.00 :)

And before you get all medieval on me, my first post was just locker room rah rah stuff. I know Peavy is good.

Actually, your first post reminded me that Peavy indeed looked less than sharp last month v. the Buccos.

I really didn't realize how he'd turned it on since until I looked it up.

/putting medieval instruments away ... for now/

What a great time to be meeting the White Sox...they lost 20-1 to the Twins today...

Sounds like their bullpen might be a little depleted...

They got smashed, but i still question how we will do against them. Our track record against the White Sox the last couple times isn't too good.

Our track record against an AL team means bupkis. Given how infrequently we've played the team and how much the team has changed since the last time we played them, whatever our track record against the Sox has been says very little about how we are going to fare against them this series.

We played them last season on June 17,18, and 19th in Chicago. They swept us. We lost 16-5, 8-2, and 13-8. We came into that series 3 games under .500. We are going into this series against the White Sox in Chicago 3 games under .500
Floyd and Buehrle both got wins, and we will be facing them in game 1 and game 3 of this series.
Now is when the Twlight Zone music would play.

He'd still take Snell deep 2-3 times a game.

On second thought, maybe I should rephrase "take Snell deep" in light of your reference to probing.
