These guys are doing a heck of a job for the Bucs. Overall, I like this 2009 Pirate team much more than last year!

I'm not missing Doumit very much either. Not sure what that means! :?

It's hard not to at least be satisfied with all of those guys. Besides Nyjer, I knew little to nothing about any of the others so everything has been a pleasant surprise. Young has been a great pinch-hitter and has capitalized during his starts. I'm expecting Diaz to cool off anytime but I hope I'm wrong. It is certainly making the Doumit injury more bearable.

I think Diaz and Jaramillo will cool off and we will need Doumit back. Young has been a great pinch hitter, and i would like to see Nyjer start stealing some more bases. He has gone cold when it comes to base stealing.

Oddly enough but the return of Doumit (my favorite Bucco) will probably mean a downgrade in the lineup for a while until he gets going. Diaz can flat out hit and Jaramillo is pretty good as well. Whoever gets demoted to Indianapolis need not hang his head.

The two position players the Pirates cannot afford to lose are Wilson and Andy Laroche. Everyone else is replaceable in my opinion.

I'd find a way to keep all 3 catchers on the roster...Time to see if Diaz or Jaramillo can play another position, so Russell can keep one of their bats and Doumit's in the lineup...

Diaz has logged some time at 3rd in the minors but has 11 errors there in 21 games

Could be the time to move Doumit to first, if LaRoche gets dealt. However I've always said and always will that Doumit is a plus offensive catcher, but just an average offensive first baseman. Maybe another scenario is dealing one of the catchers. It's not a strong position in general around baseball. However, I think we get very little in return for any of them.
