Get him out before this gets out of control.

That was great.

Capps is really struggling. Way too many pitches over the middle of the plate, way too many balls just absolutely hammered. He needs to hit his spots.

He also needs to quit thinking he has a 97 mph fastball.

How much longer do we see Morgan in left-center field? Fly balls to left are hits.

This sucks. Our closer has an ERA over 8.

I can't believe we left him in there. It was a 1 run game for crying out loud.

Matt Capps is not going to work as a 9th inning pitcher if he cannot throw a breaking ball for a strike, and tops out at 93 mph. This is just no a recipe for success.

Cmon man, this management is really getting things done.

Don't boo.

We're acquiring quality depth, making good solid business decisions, making good trades, developing the domincan, and anyway we weren't going anywhere this year anyway.

Sincerely,

Pirate management apologists.

Looks like another defeat snatched from the jaws of victory.

Sigh.

I feel for Maholm.

But goddamn, De La Lobball and the fukking Rockies staff is pitching and we score one run. Don't shit all over the pitching staff.

I missed tonights game because i was out seeing the Angels & Demons movie. From what my dad had to say and what i have read it was a real heartbreaker. I just wonder if Capps is hurt and doesn't want to say so because he is afraid of losing the closing job?

Perfect example why I have lost interest in baseball. Did Maholm really need to be lifted? He couldn't throw another twenty pitches? Football can't come fast enough for me.

They pinch hit for him. Bottom line is you don't win many games scoring 1 run.

I still question Capps' body frame, he still looks out of shape...He is a lot larger than he was in 2007...

I'm wondering between that and the high amount of games he threw his 1st two seasons if he is nothing more than a righty specialist?

It's so hard to get good major league hitting in Pittsburgh. All of the good free agents do not want to come to a team in the basement: That's why Adam Dunn plays for Washington, after all!

LOL.

If you want hitting, you need to write checks.

Bob Nutting does not write checks, he cashes them.
