So . . . are we to conclude that LaRussa believes that even a line-up of "no names" or "nobodies" can beat Karstens?

If the Cardinals don't field a team, I like the Pirates' chances for a sweep...

NB Tony has decided not to bat his pitcher anywhere tonight.

After being named rookie of the month in the NL for April Tony has no faith to even play Brian Barden. He rarely even pinch hits.

No he's waiting to hear from the scientists on how far away they are from cloning 8 more Pujols...

IA Pirate goes to all this hard work every day and this is the appreciation he gets?

You all need to apologize and send him a check for $5000.

That's all.

What the heck was that?

Five batters in the inning. The first four get hits and we only score one run.

Doesn't have to be a check, I accept cash as well.

Karstens gets another quality start, but doesn't get any support.

Why let Pujols beat you? Second and third with zero outs. I walk Pujols and take my chances with the rest of this very average lineup.

Couldn't agree more. Put it this way. Down 2 in the 8th inning, runners on second and third and no outs: Option #1: Pitch to the best hitter in the universe and if he gets a hit, a SAC fly, a tough grounder, you are down at least 3, if not 4 runs. Option #2: Walk him, set up a force at home and take the bat out of the hands of God.

Option #2 all the way.

Russell takes option #1 way too much.

Man, this bullpen just cannot find any consistency.

Tonight though, 12 hits and one run, bottom line.

Still have to be happy with two out of three although it could have easily been a sweep.
