So, I had one wish and used it to get a ground ball from Chris Duncan.

Can I get a re-do on that wish?

Why pinch hit for Ohlendorf? He is throwing really, really well and had a great inning.

Don't get this.

It is too puzzling for there not to be something else going on. I wonder if the last shot that went off Ohlie's foot caused a bruise or something. Guys on the radio also find it puzzling.

DK's initial report makes no reference to Ohlie being injured or fatigued only that JR was going for "knockout punch." If that is the case, I'm not sure that I wouldv'e done the same thing. Probably not.

Yep. Ohlendorf was throwing better than the pitchers who were going to come into the game. He could have gone 7 pretty easily, and possibly even into the 8th, if he had a low-pitch 7th.

I will never understand why he was taken out. Why use 4 relievers when you you could have used just 2-3

Ohlendorf should have pitched 7.

Yates or Grabow should've pitched the 8th.

The 9th should have been either pitched by whichever one didn't pitch in the 8th, either Yates or Grabow. Or if they really wanted to they could have gone with Chavez in the 9th. Capps should have been given the night off. Instead Chavez struggled and they had to bring Capps in. Capps cracks when he is overworked. He isn't in great shape and he can't handle the workload of other closers in the league like K-Rod.

I'm at a conference this week and on vacation next week. If the Pens and Pirates keep winning I'll stay on vacation for ever. :)

Seems like he is very careful with Ohlendorf. He has pitched exceptionally well, but I get the feeling they are "protecting" him a bit. Seems like his leash is very short in games. Not saying I agree with that, but that's the way it seems to me.
