Is that Young's first start at second base?

With the exception of Bixler, this is probably the best line-up we have right now.

I think we'll win today because of the PINK BATS! 8-)

GO BUCS!

Bob Walk had some interesting stats...

Livan after 30 pitches has an opposing batting average of .400 something

and on 2-0 counts has an opposing batting average of around .500

Watching this game here. It's the bottom of the 4th. Kerrigan has already come out to talk to Snell. Runners on 2nd and 3rd. Diaz, the Catcher, comes out to talk to Snell. I could read Snell's lips. He said "I'm not throwing that" and Diaz says : "Why?". Snell just shakes his head. Diaz goes back to Home Plate.....Snell then throws a low outside ball and then serves up a single to RF allowing two more runs to score. Mets 3 Bucs 2.

You never know the reason behind what was said by anybody, but....
:?

I'm not certain we'll win with anything short of bats that have barrels as big as those big red plastic wiffle ball bats. And even then, its probably no better than 50/50.

Is anyone watching the game? Putz got about 7 pitches that MLB gameday said were balls called strikes. Just curious if the Bucs seemed upset or MLB gameday stinks.

I went to the Friday and Sunday games, and it was near torture. Despite staying close in the first game thru 7 and actually leading the Sunday game, it was just patently obvious that at the end of the day, we would lose. This team is just completely devoid of confidence in their own abilities, particularly in any clutch situation. The bullpen is an accident waiting to happen -- and actually happening --every game. We never got the big hit to keep "rallies" going, and the Mets were able to effectively cash in on opportunities. it is near criminal to run out Bixler or Moss, or half of the bullpen as "major leaguers." And sorry for being sacriligious, but when is Nate going to get an extra-base hit when it is meaningful?

Even worse was the team's attitude. We sat in the first row, directly on the Pirates dugout for Sunday's game. My son and I were decked out in Pirate regalia -- screaming our lungs out in support everytime they'd return to the dugout. The players appeared to be purposefully ignoring us -- particulary Adam "Mr. April" LaRoche. I know he's stuck in an abysmal slump, but how about even a modicum of recognition toward the (assuredly dwindling) fan base. Even the Mets fans around us where livid at the Bucs for their willful ignorance.

It is hard enough to get my kid to like our team, but if they are gonna be losers, they should at least be "lovable losers."
