I apologize if this topic has already been brought up, but do the Pirates have any chance of landing Steven Strasburg? Just saw the ESPN feature on this guy and he is phenomenal. Would be great to have him in the rotation.

It is doubtful that he would fall to us. He just won't last that long.

He probably won't, but guess who might... Tanner Scheppers. Apparently he has recovered from his surgery, and has been lights out in team workouts. His debut in an independant league apparently has gone well, too.

I believe people are projecting Scheppers to go somewhere around the 10-15 slots. Its a moot point for the Pirates, as a team who does not sign a player one year is not allowed to redraft them the following year without permission of the player.

Oh, and no way does Strasburg fall to us, unless he blows out his arm.

I'd say we are going to be taking one of Ackley or Green right now. I also wonder where Aaron Crow is going to fall...

I was thinking Steven Strasburg was going to be the #1 pick. If not him who do you think will go #1?

By the way, he was not drafted out of high school.

I hope his team makes the CWS. I have front row tickets right behind home plate again this season!
