PV lost yesterday 4-2 to Scottsdale CC to drop the best of three series, 2-0. Only 4 runs in 2 games. You're not gonna win too many games that way. We left at least 10 guys on base and in one inning had a chance for a big inning. First hitter walked. Next hitter hits couble down leftfield line. Coach waves runner from first, who by the way is one of our slower guys, to score and he is thrown out by ten feet at least. Instead of 2nd and 3rd nobody out , we have one out runner on second and the runner never scored. Our most consistent pitcher didn't even pitch in this series because of the hunch to start the sot tossing lefty reliever in game 1. SAve your hunches for game three. You gotta get there first.

I want to thank all the board members for their tolerance of these reports. Newcomers may not realize it but myself and others have reported on these players since some of them were in middle school.

No. 1 had a good first year of college ball despite the late season frustrations. He told me he will be in the weight room today and will be going to Las Vegas several times this summer to work with his first college pitching coach who is working in Las Vegas and doing some part time stuff for the Pirates. It will be a summer of working, lifting and summer school.

His team's 35-23 record was far above expectations for a first year program. The team was made up almost exclusively of freshman and they will have a big target on their collective backs next year.

It was fun.

Very good season! Add a few sticks to the lineup and next year could be very interesting!

Tough way to end the season, Az. Given team's success and first round performance, you were hopeful of making it to Oklahoma, so the series loss is tought to take.

However, if somebody had asked in January, "Would you be satisfied with 35 team wins, and making it to the second round of the playoffs?", the answer would likely have been "yes."

Still a young team. They are going to be tough next year. Son's high school team has 8 juniors among the top 11 players. They may make the playoffs this year, and pose a team others will not want to face as their pitching is pretty good. However, for us, next year is likely the year.

Almost every team we faced this year is relying on senior starting pitching. Our top 3 starters all are juniors. Crespi is going to be a tough team to beat next year ... but this season is not over yet!!
