Hi,
Been lurking for a while and decided I like the looks of this board. Seems like nice people and not quite as many trolls as someboards. Thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a father of 4 sons. Got interested in baseball because of them. They were big Sammy Sosa fans back in his hayday. WGN made it easy for them to watch. I started taking them to Pittsburgh to see the Cubs whenever they were in town. We live about 2 hours away from Pittsburgh is Southeast Ohio. I started to really like the Pirates and found myself a fan. I think it happened the first night Jason Bay was a Pirate. We were in the bleachers then. We were also in the stands the night Mackawaik (sp) hit like 8 rbi's basically winning both games (double header) on the same day became a dad.

I won't claim to be a life long Pirate fan, but I don't consider myself a bandwagon fan either. I enjoygood baseball conversation and hope tobecome part of the board.

Good Day

Welcome aboard. Its always fun to see the interesting stories of how people became Bucco fans.

OPF - anybody who began rooting for the Buccos the past 16 years cannot possibly be labeled a "bandwagon" fan.

So do we, and you already are. Don't be afraid about starting threads about any topic related to the Buccos, or even about baseball in general. (Dan and my son would open up discussions to involve wrestling as well, but that is another story.)

Preliminary matter: You must swear that you have an absolute hatred for the Chicago Cubs (and their fans) to continue posting on this Board. :)

Welcome. BTW, where do you stand on the use of situational bunting????? Just kidding, just kidding . . . . :)

Welcome from a fellow father of 4 boys!

As for being a "bandwagon fan", if you were one, I would definitely have to question your taste in bandwagons!

Cubs fans, I think that was part of what made me a Pirates fan to begin with. Putting up with them at the games. My kids still like the cubs so I have to refrain.

Situational bunting - only if your down by 3 and your number 3 or 4 hitter is up.

Do I win???
