Pirates' lineup:

1. Morgan, CF
2. Sanchez, 2B
3. Moss, LF
4. Adam LaRoche, 1B
5. Hinske, RF
6. Andy LaRoche, 3B
7. Vazquez, SS
8. Diaz, C
9. Snell, P

Brewers' lineup:

1. Weeks, 2B
2. Duffy, CF
3. Braun, LF
4. Fielder, 1B
5. Hart, RF
6. Hardy, SS
7. Hall, 3B
8. Kendall, C
9. Gallardo, P

This game is a must-win for both their confidence and my confidence. A loss would be devastating. I'm curious to see how Duffy plays today...

If we win with that lineup against Gallardo, I'll buy everyone on this board a beer.

You'll all have to split it though!

Gallardo not really the guy you want to face in a rubber match.

Gallardo is a bum.

Just to get the right JuJu going on.

Other than the fact that he bats left handed, why is Moss batting 3rd? Couldn't JR be a little more creative?

Really, I wish folks would be half as patient with anyone other than An LaRoche, as they are with An LaRoche.

Because he's an intriguing prospect with power who might benefit from the protection in front and behind, is what I'm guessing.

I'm not saying don't play him, just don't put him in the spot generally reserved for the best hitter on the team. Moss has done nothing to warrant batting behind the on base machines (at least for now) of Morgan/Sanchez or in front of Adam LaRoche.

I don't like the order, it's got nothing to do with giving Moss the same chance Andy got.

Well, well. Look who's playing CF for the brew crew.

By that standard, many here would've been calling for Moss's immediate DFA'ing roundabout inning 6 of game 1.

Frankly, I'm pleasantly surprised by the relative dearth of "Start Craig Monroe" threads in response to Moss's slow start.

Gallardo has 7 Ks and has given up only 1 hit through 6...good thing Snell is holding them off as well. NO WALKS Ian, no walks...

The bad news: Snell only has 3 Ks. The good news: they're all Ryan Braun.

He's at 105 pitches . . . 2 out in bottom of 6th. Is he done after this inning? Bullpen going to shut down Brewers?

Gallardo only at 82 pitches. He's got plenty of arm left. Buccos 2-3-4-5-6 hitters get him in the top of the 7th.

He struck out the last two batters he faced. I say, leave him in to start the 7th.

Good point and Gallardo is the second hitter . . .

Is Gallardo going to single-handedly beat the Pirates? Good freaking Lord.
