I would like to see it banned from baseball, tear it down build something new. What is it with this place the Pirates simply can not win here!! the ball flies out of there to left field.

We should probably hit the ball to left field more... ;)

Which is why you can't throw fluff balls, belt high, middle-in <ahem Karstens>, to right handed batters.

Can't blame the ballpark. The Brewers are a good hitting team, and our pitching was pathetic. We earned that defeat.

I have backed Tyler Yates from the outset, but last night, I think I began to make my turn. After your team ties the game in the 8th it is a complete insult to walk the first batter on 4 pitches. We knew that the bullpen was going to be a weakness and they have been playing pretty well, but I thought we had a chance to steal that game last night with our #5 starter tossing up BP. Too bad the bullpen had to ruin it for us. If we want a guy who throws hard and walks batters then we should keep Meek on the roster when Hansen gets back and drop Yates.

Another point... The Pirates batters again ran up the pitch count on a starter, what was it 100 pitches through 5 or 6 innings?

Despite his velocity, Yates is not a good pitcher. His career ERA is 5.13.

I myself would not have used him in that situation, and thought that was the turning point in the game.

The Pirates had already used Chavez, Meek, Burnett by that point. Grabow went two innings the day before. Using Yates was pretty much the only option, apart from using Capps in the 8th, or bringing in Veal.
