I know we're beat up, lets hope Ohlendorf keeps runs off of the board.

With Blanco, Giles and Eckstein, the Padres lineup looks downright geriatric.

<Sigh> Ohlendorf gives up a two run dinger to Gonzalez.

Looks like Peavy is going to get the close calls today. 10+ strikeouts could be on the way.

Andy L. quiet 10 game hitting streak. Balls that once got caught for outs are now starting to fall in for hits.

Come on Bixler, bring in the LaRoche bros. to tie the game. And he gets caught looking on two questionable fastballs off of the plate. Can't take those Brian.

If the first questionable pitch was called a strike, then Bixler should have known that the second one likely was going to be called a strike. He should have swung.

The Pirates line-up today is just sad. Take out McLouth, Doumit and Sanchez, and the hitting looks like a AAA squad. Example - Brandon Moss is hitting third. He is not a number 3 hitter.

The first strike was a 2-0 slider that Peavy put over the middle of the plate, thigh-high. That was the pitch Bixler needed to hit. The pitcher is on deck, for crying out loud. If a pitch is over the middle of the plate, hit it.

Terrible AB. Bixler stood there like a cardboard cut-out.

He was fucked on that strike 3 to the back-up Pads SS. Why is that guy getting calls? I hope the umpire gets one right off his nuts for that call.

Either Gameday is off on its strikezone, or the ump is all over the place on his strike calls. I'm watching Adam's PA, and the ump gave Peavy a strike on what appears to be a ball outside, and then gave him a ball on what appears to be a low strike on the corner. Very odd.

Thank you Jake Peavy. WP sends Moss and Rock1 to 2nd and 3rd. No outs.

Utter garbage. Hinske got jobbed on a called strike that was further inside than a called ball earlier in the AB.

And we're back in the game! Diaz and his free-swinging ways come through. Tied at 2.

The umpire called a stike on Adam Laroche that was ankle high, 3" outside. The called strike 3 to Hinske, following a great AB, was just horrid. The ball was 4-5" inside.

Meanwhile, Ohlendorf gets nothing close.

Jeez, ump, Jake Peavy does not need your help. The umpire reminds me of a sycophant butt-kisser.
