I want to see Bixler play nearly every day. I think the kid is ready to take over for Jack anyway!

It does seem like Bixler has flipped the proverbial switch in Indy.

At the very least, he can't do any worse than he did filling in for Jack last year.

A great start by the Pirates...why wouldn't the core players on our team start falling to the injury bug? Gotta love being a Pirates fan!

I predict that we will see a much-improved Brian Bixler compared to last year's version.

Isn't that like predicting the weather in July will be much warmer than weather in January? I'm not sure I have ever seen a worse showing for an extended period of time for a Major League ballplayer. He was terrible in every facet of the game.

Doug Frobel's entire 1984 year?

George Hendrick's 2 HR 19 RBI half season in '85?

Benny DiSteffano's.......well anything involving him?

Junior Ortiz forced to play most games when Spanky went down in 89? (although I hate saying that because I really liked Junior and he was forced to play above his comfort zone)

It will be hard for Bixler to do anything that would make him look worse than he was in his stint in the big leagues last year. I'm not anticipating his return at all, but there's no one to go but up, I suppose.

Bixler is an adequate replacement....nothing more. He's certainly better than bums like Abe Nunez and Sammy Khalifa but no upgrade to Jacko. Hellloooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!

Bixler played well. He had two solid at-bats, smoked a two-run double, played flawless defense, turned two double plays. All in all, a really good game by a guy who flew 2000 miles last night for a day game the next day.

He looked like Bixler '08. Could not lay off the slider, down and away. Also missed the fastball over the plate. Pretty tough game.

Very bad game, but i am just hoping we take 1 in Milwaukee so we can break this streak at Miller Park.
That will be a victory in its own right.

Give him a chance. He had to be exhausted in this game. Kid was flown all the way to San Diego last night, dressed and played. Then was flown to Milwaulkee and played in the next days game. At some point everyone's body says it's just time to shut down.

He had a much better sprinj. Time to give him a little slack and see.

If that was the case, blame JR. He as Vasquez, a lefty and competent INF ready to go, and had said earlier in the day that Vasquez need to play more.
