Its probably Charlie.

It looks damn close to the picture he has of himself on Bucs Dugout.

Lets just hope he doesn't see the ball as his girlfriend and blast it.

Looks like cable TV is way ahead of the internet. Still 3-2 on Eckstein with what I'm watching . . . has to be at least a 60-90 second difference.

We get beat by to walks and a .152 hitter. Sigh!

Pirates lose a close on, but one we didn't deserve to win.

Bad way to end it. Capps was going inside, inside, inside, inside. I feared Giles would catch up with one. If he throws a change-up, Giles is dead. Not real thrilled with that sequence.

It was a 1-2 pitch too. Capps just didn't have his control tonight. Tough loss.

At risk of being accused as a "second guesser," I simply don't understand why all 5 pitches were in the same spot . . . 1 change inside followed by four straight fastballs in the same location . . . I would have gone away with a fastball to give Giles a different look and then came back inside if the outside pitch didn't get him reaching.

Posted at the same time . . . same thoughts . . . see above. What did Kerrigan say in that interview? If we are locked into the fastball make sure that you are going in-and-out. Giles was simply getting locked in . . .

Giles swings alot at pitches that are away also. Thats why it makes even less sense.

My point exactly. Same pitch, same location four times in a row. Change speed, change location. He had certainly established the inside corner, for heaven's sake.

The game was lost ... when Delwyn Young fanned with runners first and third, one out, in the 6th inning. I just had a feeling that if the Buccos take the lead, then their pen overpowers the Pads.

The highlight of this game had to be the wild Pirate fan in the crowd that almost got into it with the Padres fan infront of him. He's my MVP of this game because he never gave up. He is probably still sitting there yelling.

Capps was bad, but Jack Wilson was even worse. Not his best night for sure. As for Capps, he was all over the place. I agree that his pitch choice was odd, but he also was having trouble putting the ball where he wanted. And there are some nights he stands out there and just throws fastballs. Not because of tonight, but I still have a big question mark beside his name. His fastball is very hittable. Straight as an arrow. And when they are sitting on it.... But I really do think he had no idea where it was going tonight.

Didn't stay up. Interesting read this morning. I could see that the game was edge of the seat kind of stuff. Enjoyed the conversation- thanks.

Let's see-- in sum, Two best hitters not playing, questionable strike zone, Jack sucked and so did Matt. Morgan is picked off again, no timely hitting by bench or anyone really,Snell walks a bunch, not much question as to why the final result was not so good.

I fell asleep in the 7th.

* Their pitcher was hittable. Doumit and Nate would have made a difference.
* Snell wasn't bad. He was locating his four seamer with pinpoint accuracy and his two seamer had good tail. He just had trouble throwing the curve for strikes and the ump didn't help either.
* Jack, wtf? His swing on those sliders a foot and a half outside and 2 inches above the dirt we're embarasing. Pressing in the two hole perhaps? He looked lost.
* Chavez is becoming one of my favorites. No wimping around. Here it is, hit it!
* JJ is contributing. If that shot to RF, in what I believe was the 5th inning, is half a foot towards the line, it gets past Giles who appeared to have taken a bad route. Little LaRoche scores easily from first.
* Moss needs to start showing a bit more pop. He's too big and strong to keep going with his best Rafael Belliard immitation.
