I hear ya. I hate walks. But walks happen. If the pitcher then gets not one, but two potential double play grounders and the defense cannot back him up, then the pitcher has done his job.

Good job by Burnett working through trouble. Burnett basically got 5 outs that inning.

My 13 year old is having a sleep over with a friend tonight and they are going strong but disappointed that I'm "hogging" the Mac and watching the game on the 'net.

Extra inning games end on a HR pretty frequently, but given the players the Pirates are missing in this game and the Petco effect, that is asking a lot.
