Maybe I am a heretic, but I was thinking Monroe might get the start in left today over Morgan after his big day yesterday. After all, when AnLaroche didn't hit for a couple games, he got benched...

AnLaRoche didn't hit for half a season, and couldn't get on the field in LA before that.

Morgan has hit over .300 since his recall last year.

Not to be picky or anything.

I'm glad to see Wilson back in the lineup. I see Chipper is too...

If they complete the sweep today it will be the first time the team has been two games over .500 under Russell.

And Andy LaRoche is an actual prospect. Not to be picky or anything.

So they say.

The thread was slowing down, it needed a little "Wilsoning".

:D

2-0 Atlanta first inning Duke looks terrible. And you all said he and maholm were best 1-2 punch!

Duke had some crappy hits drop for doubles and a broken bat single. Not saying it's all bad luck, but those are three soft runs.

The next 3 runs weren't quite so soft.

Some games are just ... I don't know, just not meant to be. The top of the first was mainly a bunch of bloopers and broken bat crap. I had a feeling that the game just was not going to get any better.

Best part of the day was a 5k in the morning. Absolutely beautiful weather here. Met a co=worker before the race, enjoyed some great miniature cinammon roles given out by a local bakery. Really hoped that Zach would keep the great day rolling, but it was just not meant to be.

And the HR was a shock. It looked like a fly ball when it left the bat. Nothing is going right for Duke today.

And McLouth hits the ball harder than any of the Braves base hits in their three-run first inning - resulting in a line-out. Baseball sucks.

It also doesn't help that Javier Vazquez is lights out today, though that should have been expected.

And the umpire obviously has reservations at 5:30 and wants to get the hell out of there. Maybe one of the three pitches to Laroche was a strike.

That Questec review is going to sting for the last few pitches.

Well at least this has made switching over to the Pens/Flyers game a no brainer.

Bottom 1st down 3-0. Morgan on 2nd, McLouth on 1st, 2 out. LaRoche at the plate and the Braves aren't holding our 2 fastest guys on. 4 pitches go by and they never run. Why not get the additional runner into scoring position. That's lousy coaching all the way around. Beasley, Hill, Russell, Varsho need to get their heads out of their hind ends. Bob Walk was all over this. That no Pirate was able to spot this no-brainer of a play was inexcusable. Horrible game all the way around today. Pitching, hitting, baserunning, fielding, throwing, COACHING.
