Off to a 3 for 27 start at Indy. What in the world happened to this guy? I remember being told he'd produce what Nady does if he got the opportunity last spring. Looks like we've got another Brad Eldred one-sensational-minor-league-year-wonder.

Better pitchers are exploiting his poor plate discipline, I bet.

I think he just played over his head in '07 and had a phenomenal year but he is really not that good.

Seems to be a problem for the major league club as well. Except replace "better pitchers" with "all pitchers."

By "better" I meant "better than AA." But your point is fairly taken.

At some point we may need to acknowledge that Steve Pearce isn't even a AAAA player. He may not even be an AAA player. So far he's only a AA+ player. Not sure the Pirate should be planning or building around that.

If Pearce doesnt work out, Moss has experience at 1st until Pedro is ready...

Is Pedro going to play first? I thought he was supposed to be a stellar third baseman.

Only with the bat; not necessarily with the glove.

What happened is what usually happens who will swing at any pitch. Pitchers figured that out.

IMO, Pearce is through as a prospect. Bad enough that he has no plate discipline, but he actually BRAGS about it. You can't correct a problem when you think that it's a strength.
