Pirates' lineup:

1. Morgan, LF
2. Sanchez, 2B
3. McLouth, CF
4. Doumit, C
5. Adam LaRoche, 1B
6. Monroe, RF
7. Andy LaRoche, 3B
8. Wilson, SS
9. Ohlendorf, P

Astros' lineup:

1. Bourn, CF
2. Tejada, SS
3. Berkman, 1B
4. Lee, LF
5. Pence, RF
6. Blum, 3B
7. Rodriguez, C
8. Keppinger, 2B
9. Hampton, P

First start for Monroe, I imagine he might be a tad rusty. Hopefully Ohlendorf can have a start similar to his previous against the Cards...

I'm glad to see Monroe getting a chance. I wonder if Luis Cruz has packed his bags yet and is bent over waiting for the boot out the door?

Leadoff walk by Ross, two runs score, 2 sac flies.

Yuck!

Lead off walks will kill you. I am all too familiar with that.

It was on four pitches, too.

He is coming around here. They just panned the crowd and the lower bowl looks like a Condor's game.

No quality start this game. It looks like the offense will have to bail the Bucs out tonight.

Two different strike zones... a small one for Ohlendorf, and a mighty generous one for Hampton

Through the top of the 6th, its bad pitching, bad hitting, and bad defense. The Bucs are back!

Do we have any other left-handed hitters we can get into the game against the lefty Hampton? How is that working for you so far?

Why the huge strike zone for Hampton? He is getting calls on pitches that are 3" off the outside corner, and/or below the knees.

Tough to hit even his girlish slop when a pitch off the outside corner and below the knees is a "strike."

Pirate hitters not getting any respect. This is the second game with two different strike zones.

This kind of stuff just blisters me. John Russell has the patience of a saint. I would be pretty pissed at the strike zone if I were in the Pirates' dugout.

Didn't Russell get tossed in ST? Why must he have this quiet demeanor in the regular season. Sometimes I think the umps abuse us because of our low standing in the league.

The number 42 joke is getting old by these Astro announcers... Yah that's right, I am stuck listening to these eggheads.

Adam I think was a victim of the old double switch. He had the unfortunate honor of getting one of the last outs in the inning.

Ok - Trying to play catch up via the Gameday interface. Ohlendorf makes it through 5 on 85 pitches, from what I can tell the fifth wasn't too bad for him. Why the double switch? Did JR decide he needed Chavez's thunderstick in there as a departing gift?
