Game report indicates he twisted his knee. I bet the Pirates were willing to offer any medical assistance needed to keep him in the game.

Soooo.....

Prior to that inning, I bet my buddy $50 that we would put a 5-spot up. He claims I said we would score 5 off of Moeller, and since he left the game, the bet was voided. I think I wuz robbed. Injury my @ss. He just had a bad case of suckiness, but he's been battling that particular injury his whole career.

Bertie...could you please arrange some personal counseling with BBF regarding the inadvisability of $50 wagers. Thank you.

BBF....to paraphrase another poster: "I say kick the living sh$t out of him and keep the fifty dollars."

The counselling would be more directed toward choosing with whom to place a 'notional' bet.
Just to clarify, after the unmentionable refused to take "double or quits" (when, as it turned out, I would have owed him $100) attempts to pay him were predicated - by him - on when I returned to the States.
Much to my chagrin, such a condition has obviated any opportunity for any satisfactory (to either party) conclusion.
