The Cubs lineup consists of nine players hitting over .250. The Pirates lineup consists of three players hitting over .250, and six players hitting worse than that mark.

Solid hit by Bixler and nice baserunning by Mientkiewicz. The throw beat him to the plate, but with a good, heads-up slide he was able to beat the tag.

Duke is lucky he's only given up three so far. A great job by Paulino to keep Soto off the bag and though Duke has only walked one, he is behind every hitter and there are a lot of fly outs. I think the wind has changed to moving in from center so that might be the only thing saving him so far.

I hate the CUBS!

I think us throwing out Soto at the plate is going to change the momentum of this game, great block of the plate by Paulino.

Which of our pitchers will grow some huevos and throw at Soriano's helmet?

For those of you who aren't watching, Bay hit two towering fly balls in his first two at-bats that were knocked down by the wind and caught high on the wall. Now, he walks to load the bases with nobody out.

Do you advocate attempted murder as a general solution to your problems, or only when it comes to baseball?

Seriously, mods, can you please install an ignore feature to the new board?

It's already there. Feel free to join to the club.

What kind of replies do you expect when you suggest headhunting?

Nate McLouth shows why you leave the batter's box at a dead run. You never know when the pitcher is going to loaf on his way to cover, or a fielder might bobble a ball.

I advocate throwing at a batter when the alternative is what just happened.

Seems a bit bloodthirsty to me. I point out that you advocated throwing at his head, which is way over the line. If that was just hyperbole, I retract the previous post. If you meant it, though, the question stands.

Another fantastic play by Marte. He's quite an athlete.

Throwing at his head? No way.

Throwing at him? I guess it's a little cowardly, but alright. If he did something to show up the Pirates after his home run, definitely throw at him, but not at the head.

As it stands, I'd definitely be behind a brush back pitch where if it hits him, it hits him, but I don't like throwing at a guy because he's hitting home runs. It's part of the game, the battle.

The board has that feature and numerous people - me included - use it for a certain individual whose only apparent purpose on this site is to be a complete and total ass.

To implement the ignore feature, click the "user control panel" link on the upper right of the home page.

The left side of that page is titled "Options." Under that caption are a number of features, including one titled "friends and foes."

Click on that link. It will then have two choices - "manage friends" and "manage foes." For your purposes, click on "manage foes."

In the box entitled "Your foes," put in the name "Sisyphus." His posts then simply disappear. It is a beautiful feature.

When you look at Soriano's stance, you've got to figure that the only way to go after him is to pitch him inside, but his bat is so fast that you can't sneak anything past him when he's in a groove, like he is now. I don't have any problem with throwing fastballs at his left elbow, which may be in the strike zone anyway, but I'd rather give up the tying run than fracture his skull. Call me a wuss, I guess.
