I am surprised Doumit is in the lineup. He has been getting killed behind the plate the first three days.

And Andy out again is surprising as well. Figure they want him back on the horse.

DK said in his blog that Doumit's first day off will be Saturday against the Reds.

Maybe the horse bucked him off...

Yeah, I'd have liked to see what the back up is capable of...Russell must really want to win this series...

I love day games! Especially when I'm at work. Makes the afternoon more enjoyable.

Or can make the afternoon excruciatingly long, but let's stay away from that!

Or it can make the afternoon workday annoying. As in, you have to be quick with your old ALT+TAB abilities, as you have to switch the screen when co-workers walk into your office. Usually gets me thinking: "get outta' here, you tool! Can't you see I'm watching a pitch-by-pitch Ryan Doumit strikeout?!?!"

Nice that Adam and Andy can have family time on the bench.

Don't care for the lineup but I'm sure JR has his reasons.

Is it raining or will it start on time?

I propose that from now on we simply hit Pujols. At least make him earn his trip to first.

Well, it took Ohlendorf 27 pitches, but he got out of the first inning by striking out Ludwick on a foul tip. The pitch count could get mighty unmanageable, though, so we have to hope for some better efficiency from Ross in the coming innings...

Isn't Doumit due for a big day offensively? I'd like to see his first dinger of the year.

If you have DirecTV, 728, as they give the MLB package out the first week (two weeks?) of the season.

Pujols making up for some of those runs he's scored on us over the years with shoddy defense in the 3rd. Thanks Albert.

It's not often that you can get 1 run off of no hits.

Every year they change Gameday, and every year I like it less and less. It's getting harder and harder to make sense of.

Here's my bold prediction: Carpenter no hits the Pirates but loses 1-0!
