Those who opined that the Pirates obtained no legitimate prospects in the Cole deal may have to reconsider. First, KATOH ranks Moran as the 89th best prospect in baseball, and further notes that one player who "graduated" due to playing time but remains highly-thought-of include Joe Musgrove, ranked as the 14th best "graduate":

Also, Fangraphs prospect list ranks rates Moran as the 53rd best prospect in the majors:

The Fangraphs lists includes 5 Pirates among the top 74 - Keller at 23, Meadows at 47, Moran at 53, Hayes at 56, and Tucker at 74.

I've liked the trade from day one. 8-)

Oh frack off! You would have liked the trade if they would have traded Cole for a old bag of balls.

GET HIM OUTTA HERE!

Really, for me, comes down to Moran successfully filing the gap in the lineup and playing a good 3B. Really would like to see NH take another rebound flyer on a guy like Melky Cabrera though. Or, hell, does Bautista have many HR's left in that bat? Put him in RF and let's see.

"Ironman" Polanco has right field buttoned up ... well, at least until he pulls a hamstring climbing the dugout steps.

Why can't the team install a handicap ramp out of the darn dugout??

I wondered the same about Bautista, but I didn't have the guts to post it. I wonder if he'd end up taking a minor league deal, or a deal with incentives?

Did you see the video of him "going back to his roots" in training in the Dominican? Has transitioned to a lot of flexibility based training. Still looks like the Cobra but a lot leaner to me. If he's developed/regained his flexibility, he can have a monster year.

I've been of the opinion that as of last year, he still had not grown into his body yet. As your video clearly shows.

Feliz intrigues.

Musgrove... ehh. So long as he's better than Jeff Locke he'll be alright (or so long as he's 2013 Jeff Locke).
