After seeing the return for Cole, I'm not very optimistic for the return of McCutchen.

Meh, they got what Cole was worth in major league ready players. They could have got more if they wanted high ceiling younger prospects.

1 man does not make a team. He’s just a cog in the machine, the biggest cog...but just a cog.

If they except young prospects they will be higher rated. If they want major league ready they will be lower ceiling but probably what he was worth.

What a waste of this corps.

It's going to take a couple of years for the new guys to mold together, if they develop at all.

The ceiling for this new bunch seems a lot lower than the last group.

Unless your Giancarlo, you ain't getting those kinds of returns. No one is giving up those level players for a player in decline.

I am on record as wanting to have kept these guys together for one more run, but can see the rationale.

Rumor mill has it that someone off the 25 man is coming back, plus prospects.

MLB Trade Rumors says one of the players will by Kyle Crick, 25 year old right handed reliever.

Kyle Crick is part of the return. He was formerly a highly-rated prospect that fell upon some control issues. Still a great arm. Last season was his rookie year. With Crick now in the mix with Feliz and Musgrove, added to Schugel, Neverauskas, Santana, Kontos, Hudson, and Rivero, it makes you wonder if the Bucs are going to do some "bull penning" this year.

I'm wondering if Rivero is going to get dealt?
He could bring in the big name prospects.

This organization is a disgrace.

This isn't a re-build, this is a firesale. There is a huge difference.

Cole brought four warm bodies. It's documented and stated as fact (I believe by Buster Olney) that the Yankees offered higher-end prospects, just not as many in numbers.

Cutch, man, this one hurts. If all he's bringing is a reliever and possibly something else...painful. Very painful.

Looks like OF Bryan Reynolds. Sort of like the Martin kid we just got, only a year behind him and a switch-hitter. Meh. I am consistently slightly underwhelmed by every one of NH's trades.

If people didn’t see this coming they weren’t paying attention. The one thing I missed is that I couldn’t figure out why NH and CH were extended. The reason is that nobody else would take the job knowing the reality.

For me, it’s underwhelming because the Pirates got what Cutch and Cole’s value were, no one over-payed or under-payed. They weren’t blown away, they didn’t win the trades but they didn’t lose. It’s just very meh.

The biggest issue with these trades is that they should have happened last off season, when the return would have been greater.

What’s interesting is that Marte, Polanco, and Cole never came close to their potential/ceiling.

Maybe the next core will end up better than what they project.
