So the Pirates aren't paying Kang right now and they aren't paying Marte. Thats gotta be close to $5 million being saved.

This really pisses me off. We are being jacked around here, I think. Somehow, I can't see this happening if Kang played for the Yankees, Red Sox, or Cubs. T any rate, we are now left without an answer at third base for 2018, a year we had hoped to compete. What to do? I'm not really keen on trading Cole, because we need him for playoff runs the next two seasons.

This is where Adam Frazier is key. If continues to contribute, then Harrison can move to third. If the Pirates trade Harrison, we still have Freese as well.

No way of knowing when or if Kang will be back. This latest ruling really doesn't change anything, although obviously if it had gone the other way it would have helped a lot.

You'd have to at least listen to offers for Cole. He looks really good so far and could bring a nice haul.

Of course he also fits real well at the top of our rotation.

Yeah but he isn't resigning with the Bucs and has only a year left before free agency....will get a bigger haul this year rather than next... 8-)

I highly doubt Cole is here next season, nor should he be based on the asking price for controlable starting pitchers. I'm hoping for a really good season from him and then get a monster return for him.

He has two more arbitration years after this one.

yeah, I think we control him through 2019. If it was 2018, I'd say deal him.
