Based on ERA, the Pirates have the second best 1-2-3 in the rotation in all of Major League Baseball.

Cardinals: 2.55 (10-3)
Pirates: 2.828 (6-8)
Nationals: 2.835 (10-4)

Our best 3 pitchers have an ERA of 2.83 and are 6-8. Thats unreal.

We'd have the #1 1-2-3 AND 1-2-3-4 if NH had traded Cutch for Quintana!

And just think of how GREAT the offense would have been!!!

1. The Pirates would still be in the basement as you can have all the sub 3 ERA's you want but when your offense is this bad you still lose.

2. If all it was going to take was Cutch it would have been done. I think it's safe to say the asking price was much much higher and based on this team, not worth it.

I was being SUPER sarcastic.

In seriousness: it doesn't matter if your 1-2-3 are great if your 4-5 are hot garbage. Kuhl and Glasnow are AAAA right now.

They scored 4 runs last night. More than they had the previous 4 games. But they gave up 11. It's kind of hard to win games when your starter gives up 7 runs in the second inning. Either the pitching is awful, and the hitting is ok. Or the pitching is good and the hitting is putrid.

He's this year's version of 2011 Chase D'Arnaud. Likable player you want to root for but not a good ball player.

Yet they keep running him out there...baffling. I assume Frazier will start to get those starts now that he is back.

I would certainly hope so. Probably sends Harrison to LF though. Need to have Harrison, Frazier, and Freese in the lineup at the same time given the fact that the rest of the team couldn't hit a beach ball with a tennis racket.

I guess. Harrison is more than capable on defense. Maybe Frazier can play LF? He played there a bunch in Indy last year. Keep Harrison at 2B and you don't need to make late defensive replacements at that spot.

Hurdle would probably do some double switch thing and take him out anyway..I am with you though on that. He is your best hitter right now and put him there and let him get comfortable....this resting guys is BS too....don't get me started on that... ;) ;)
